View Past IssuesWhen you think about it, the things we want and hope for are often not the things we value the most. That bigger house or car might be nice to have, but is that designer suit really a priority, given that we have hunger and wars in the world?
The energy industry, while a necessary underlying foundation of everything we do, is critical to our advancement, and it’s valuable. But it’s not more valuable than human life, not more valuable than people being fed, not more valuable than cultures coming together for a higher unity and collaborative effort.
Today it’s more evident than ever that what we need more of … is less! Yes, less is the new more. As people get in touch with what’s really important, what has true value, and what really makes life work, it’s obvious that sustainability is the goal—and, therefore, less is more.
“Less is the new more” is an intriguing paradigm. It’s a new way of thinking. It’s a cultural shift. And it’s something to celebrate. We would like to acknowledge the energy industry for focusing on higher level questions such as these thought provokers:
-What makes your company, community, and your world sustainable?
-Where do you need to reduce, cut back, save, and reserve the energy of our world?
-Where do we need to utilize our current non-renewable energy resources as the catalyst for renewable energy regimes?
-Where do we need to utilize our excess and move it to people, places, and programs where people are in need of the basics like water and food?
These are the truly inspiring questions of the day that will lead us to the sustainable world that we all desire. They are the questions that bring us to the core of what we value.
As the energy industry enquires into these domains, expect to find the answers in the pages of The OGM. It’s our commitment that we deliver on the topics that will make the difference in our new-energy, sustainable world!
