OUR GREAT MINDS

A Day in the Life of Christine Adams, Creative Director of The OGM

We get a lot of questions here at The Oil and Gas Magazine. Like, how do you get to all those shows all over the world? How do you distribute the magazine through an app? How do you design the magazine? It was those types of questions from our friends, followers, fans, readers and clients that prompted us to create a new series called…”A Day in the Life.”

At The OGM – today we’re going to take you on a little journey through the eyes of our 15-year veteran and Creative Director Christine Adams. Who not only has an outrageous passion for design, she also loves client relations and building marketing solutions. You might say she’s a marketing expert with a designer’s flair!

Christine’s work life is rich and diverse. One minute she’s designing, the next she’s networking at an oil conference, and the next she’s headed on a road trip to learn about new projects and opportunities. She says, “Working at The OGM” is an adventure. It’s exciting, and you never know what’s coming next. My days are full of organizing, producing, creating, imagining, and meeting with team members to make it all happen. It’s fun!”

It allows her to be self-expressed, coming up with new and innovative ideas for clients as she lays out the entire magazine from page one to page 98. She oversees the entire operation, ensuring every story, advertisement and detail is taken care of. Sure, we’ve had a few bloopers in our day, but not too many. It’s because of Christine that this magazine, which you now have in your hands is such an outstanding product, an extraordinary job wouldn’t you say?

Not only is Christine a talented producer and designer, she also has a profound relationship with her clients. Providing them with marketing solutions that fulfill their intentions is her number one goal. Client Tanya Alexander of College of The North Atlantic says, “Christine is a true joy to work with. She is a consummate professional, but adds such sincerity and warmth, it doesn’t feel like work…” Client Dave Montgomery of Keltic Transportation says, “as a company moving into the Newfoundland market for the first time…Christine’s experience gave us the confidence to move forward with an effective marketing campaign that was well received.” Client, Darrell Hynes of Power Vac/BELFOR told me what he liked most about Christine was her SMILE. No matter what the occasion—hosting an event to working a trade show, she always has a great big smile.

Client, Lee Parmiter of Enviromed says what he likes most of Christine, “her patience with her many reminders of deadlines and the reworking of our ad copy to enhance presentation… she’s a keeper!”

When I asked client Chris Hearn of the Marine institute, “Would he recommend Christine to assist other companies like his? He said, “I would, Christine has the ‘I know ya’ sense, and this is what makes her successful, because she’s down to earth and uncomplicated, all discussed with a few laughs and a cup of coffee. That’s how it should be.”

Christine is one of those rare birds that seems to have mastered the art of “people.” Everyone loves her! Now how many people do you know that can navigate through life without ruffling feathers and always seem to leave others with what they need and want? That’s Christine! As a co-worker, Christine has been both a cherished colleague and friend to me for the last 11 years. I‘ve never experienced a more genuine, sincere professional who will go the distance to ensure all of our clients’ needs are looked after in order to create the best result. She is a true joy to work with both in the office and as a friend,” says Alexia.

Our Christine is known to have a great sense of humour also. “Everytime we speak, we laugh,” says Tanya Alexander. Chris Hearn says, “A sense of humour is a must, in this industry, dealing with people like me, who are often hard to reach, must be challenging at times, especially, as deadlines come and go, and the realization to not take it all too seriously can be a big help. It’s great to get a phone call with the voice that starts, “Whattayat” or “You’re back?” Chris Hearn, funny in his own right, says, “I’m still waiting for a pan of bread from Christine.” It is the private joke rapport that Christine has with so many of her clients. “I had a cut on my lip,” says Darrell of Powervac/BELFOR and when asked about it, Christine without missing a beat in her unsuspecting wit says, “I hit him, cause he told me he wasn’t going to advertise.” “I roared laughing, too funny,” says Darrell.

It’s not all about work at The OGM, but also about loving her two kids and spending her downtime enjoying the outdoors or cruising the roads by motorcycle with husband, Randy! Christine is without a doubt everybody’s friend and a very integral team member of The OGM—Happy 15th Anniversary CHRISTINE!

    Cheers to You baby!!
