World Heavy Oil Congress gathered 1,100 delegates and exhibitors from more than 30 countries in the great city of Aberdeen.
“We are thrilled about the success of this year’s World Heavy Oil Congress and we are particularly excited about the number of international delegates and exhibitors that participated,” said Wes Scott, Executive Vice President of dmg events, the Congress organizers. “Over 30 countries contributed to this year’s Congress, including delegations from Venezuela, Colombia, China, Peru, United Kingdom, Norway, Mexico, France, Canada and the US. The Congress is the largest gathering of heavy oil experts and professionals in the world. With such a diverse range of expertise and knowledge, the Congress provides an incredible platform for the heavy oil community to discuss global issues, technological advances and the environmental challenges facing the industry.”
“The World Heavy Oil Congress has been an interesting and very busy event, which has brought hundreds of delegates from all over the world into Aberdeen,” said Lord Provost of Aberdeen, George Adam. “It has provided a fantastic opportunity to show off the energy industry skills and expertise we have in Aberdeen and the North-east. The WHOC has also allowed those involved in the industry to network and discuss future business opportunities, which can only be good for the city.”
