He currently serves as team lead for Energy In Depth, a nationally-recognized research and education program of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, focusing on hydraulic fracturing and tight resource development in the United States. An expert on the use of social media within the energy industry, Steve has been named one of the top ten oil and gas experts on Twitter (@saeverley). Before joining FTI, Steve spent three years as an energy policy advisor to former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, where he directed research and advocacy strategies for the nationwide “Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less” campaign.
