View Past IssuesWhat if we took on sustainability in our energy resources in the same way that we have taken on safety? What do you think that would make available for our future?
We’ve become so good at safety that it’s our top priority above all. Congratulations everyone, we’ve got our priorities straight; that’s for sure! And as life ushers us onward to progress, the next big wave of change that will set the foundation for our future, after safety—is sustainability. Sustainability is not a singular concept and nor is safety. Sustainability means looking around the landscape of your work lives and identifying if the products, processes, and people are providing sustainable outcomes for the future. It might mean lowering carbon emissions. It might mean going green. It might mean a new innovation. It might mean a new energy mix. It might mean changing the culture of our organizations to serve a sustainable mission.
Here at The OGM, our goal is to “Unite energy nations of the world to create a sustainable new-energy future.” We understand that the definition of sustainability is different for everyone. What sustainability in your organization means for you can be different from another’s view, but that’s the beauty of it all. Regardless of the role you play at work, you have a
distinct sustainable advantage to see the way forward.
Imagine a world where everyone focuses on sustainability as a resource in and of itself—a place where we guarantee the future for our people today and our kids tomorrow. It’s not the energy resources that will effectively move us into the future; it’s the way we “think” about energy resources—the sustainable way.
