View Past IssuesEverWind Fuels, recognized as the western hemisphere’s most advanced clean hydrogen developer, celebrates the landmark passing of Bill C-69. This comprehensive budget implementation legislation introduces investment attraction measures that ensure Canada remains at the forefront of the fiercely competitive global clean energy sector.
Bill C-69, now Canadian law, includes a “refundable tax credit to qualifying businesses for investments in certain clean hydrogen projects” and extends tax credits to investments in clean technology manufacturing property. This advancement, operational before similar measures in the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act, positions Canada as an attractive destination for clean energy investments, fostering economic growth and environmental sustainability.
The Clean Hydrogen Investment Tax Credit (ITC) brings significant economic benefits, including job creation, economic growth, and substantial tax revenues. Environmentally, it supports the decarbonization of Nova Scotia’s grid by replacing coal with zero-emission renewables, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change.
Trent Vichie, Founder and CEO of EverWind Fuels, emphasizes, “The Clean Hydrogen ITC’s enactment is a pivotal move for Canada’s leadership in the future energy economy. This proactive approach signals to the world to choose Canada, fostering job creation, emission reduction, and economic reconciliation with our Indigenous partners.”
