EnviroMed is a Sales & Service Center for wired (4-20mA) and WireFree gas detection and monitoring systems for toxic, combustible, oxygen, and inert and VOC gases. Our traditional products are fixed and portable gas detection systems that may be wired, stand-alone and Modbus-based. The Otis GenII WireFree OI-6900 is a WireFree gas sensor assembly that uses an electro-chemical sensor element to detect a variety of gases. The device comes standard with a graphical LCD screen, standard three-button interface, custom explosion proof
enclosure, non-intrusive magnetic switches, and radio (900MHz or 2.4GHz).

The OI-6900 is designed to be self-contained and to last from 6-12 months on a single battery (time varies depending on amount of gas detected). The device has been designed to reject EMI and other forms of interference in order to avoid false gas readings. Applications include Occupational Health & Safety work sites, including confined Space & Fence Line monitoring.

The OI-6900’s key features are non-intrusive calibration and configuration. With all adjustments made at the sensor assembly, one-man calibration is quick, easy, and allows the sensor housing and enclosure to remain Class I, Division 1, Group C and D certified while in the field. Non-intrusive calibration is made possible by using a supplied magnet to activate the MENU, ADD, and SUB buttons.

The sensor functions by transmission of radio wave messages to the OI-7010 (or any Otis receiving controller) every minute when there is no gas present, and every five seconds when gas is present (and above the background gas level setting). Line of site units are no match for this self-contained and battery operated Otis transmitter which will find a path even inside an enclosed steel work area.

The device is field adjustable for background gas, and addressable to eliminate interference with other systems. Since each system’s address is field adjustable, any OI-6900 sensor may be used as a replacement with any of Otis’ Gen II Monitors. North American clients include offshore platforms, mining quarries, underground tunnels, tank farms, refineries, gas transfer areas, and construction sites.

EnviroMed supports the manufacturer’s device and sensor one year limited warranty with an additional local three months labor warranty, while the battery comes with a 90-day replacement warranty.

Features such as auto-setting Null, relay/alarm tests and battery voltage indication make this device a truly remarkable gas detection system.
