The Next Generation of UPS from Falcon Electric

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units have hardly seen any innovation since its inception. However, all that is set to change with a game-changer from Falcon Electric. The new UPS not only features power reliability through the incorporation of the latest advancements in energy technology but also has a lot fewer components than any average UPS in the current market, thus making it a solid investment in best power options with the lowest cost to the resulting ratio.

Falcon Electric Inc. is a global leader in the field of the power supply. From mission critical power solutions to backup power generation, they have been at the forefront of power generation industry for more than two decades.

Their latest innovation is a 700VA to 3kVA rack-mounted UPS which is intended to be a solution for any use. This includes sensitive equipment needed in the IT industry and Industrial Logic Controllers (PLCs) to robust solutions required in the field of telecommunications.

More than one cutting edge technological feature has been incorporated into the new UPS. Some of them include:
    • High reliability by preventing power failures using a real double conversion online topography
    • A high-level shield (or firewall) which can safeguard sensitive equipment from ‘dirty’ power sources
    • Top of the line stability and performance using Advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Surface Mount Device (SMD) technology
    • Long lasting batteries with a usage life of 5 years which can be augmented by adding external power sources
    • Hot swapping ability for small replacement and service costs
    • Support for a range of voltages and frequencies for use in any environment

Besides the above facilities, the UPS also hosts a range of the latest electronic features that include a comprehensive Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), incorporation of a boost circuit for enhancing battery performance and a programmable frequency converter for any universal application. It even features remote monitoring over-connected networks (Ethernet, LAN, etc.) through RS-232, USB, and SNMP/HTTP interfaces.

In the case of tower configurations, it can be converted to work as a power supply by simply rotating the programmable power LCD. Taking into account the case of a power disturbance, the non-critical loads can be directly left out so that power is reserved for the critical components with the help of the programmable output receptacles.
Talking about the new UPS, Michael D. Williams, the product manager for Falcon Electric said, “Our new compact SC rackmount UPS with advanced DSP technology and five-year rated batteries make it the perfect solution for demanding applications that require comprehensive power protection at an attractive price”.

      Tina Olivero

30 years ago, Tina Olivero looked into the future and saw an opportunity to make a difference for her province and people. That difference came in the form of the oil and gas sector. Six years before there was even a drop of oil brought to the shores of Newfoundland, she founded The Oil and Gas Magazine (THE OGM) from a back room in her home on Signal Hill Road, in St. John’s, Newfoundland. A single mother, no financing, no previous journalism or oil and gas experience, she forged ahead, with a creative vision and one heck of a heaping dose of sheer determination. With her pioneering spirit, Ms. Olivero developed a magazine that would educate, inspire, motivate and entertain oil and gas readers around the world — She prides herself in marketing and promoting our province and resources in unprecedented ways. The OGM is a magazine that focuses on our projects, our people, our opportunities and ultimately becomes the bridge to new energy outcomes and a sustainable new energy world. Now diversifying into the communications realms, a natural progression from the Magazine, The OGM now offers an entirely new division - Oil & Gas Media. Today, The Oil and Gas Magazine is a global phenomenon that operates not only in Newfoundland, but also in Calgary and is read by oil and gas enthusiasts in Norway, Aberdeen, across the US and as far reaching as Abu Dhabi, in the Middle East. Believing that Energy is everyone’s business, Ms. Olivero has combined energy + culture to embrace the worlds commitment to a balance of work and home life as well as fostering a foundation for health and well being. In this era of growth and development business and lifestyle are an eloquent mix, there is no beginning or end. Partnering with over 90 oil and gas exhibitions and conferences around the world, Ms. Olivero's role as a Global Visionary is to embrace communication in a way that fosters oil and gas business and industry growth in new and creative ways.
